Voyage Along The HorizonEditionsReviewThis is Marķas's second novel, written when he was twenty-one, translated and published in the USA. It contains a narrative-within-a-narrative-within-a-narrative - and perhaps there's another one too - and tells the story of an abortive cruise to Antarctica. It is a fascinating, convoluted book with a considerable debt to Conrad. Many stylistic and thematic features of Marķas's later work can be found in embryo in this book, so it is a must for enthusiasts. - review by Johnny de Falbe |
