I don’t often read books like this.  Quite frankly they seldom fulfil what their generic name collectively purports.  They just don’t thrill!

But, my goodness this one certainly does.  The fast paced narrative is not for the faint-hearted, dealing as it does with an ex-cop’s mission to find his 14 year old daughter who has been kidnapped by a satanic cult, in tandem with a former junkie, and laced with frank language and graphic detail of a sadistic underworld.

For a first novel this is a very accomplished piece of work with a great dénouement, complete with a drug-crazed rattlesnake and a genuine “ no pun intended” twist in the tale.
