He shares a flat with a law student called Stewart, a hard-working man of few words who listens very attentively to Cal’s accounts of his many sexual encounters. The blurb on the back of this book invites comparison between this work and Patricia Highsmith’s classic, The Talented Mr Ripleypbk £6.99. I don’t think so. All the same, this is a lively and entertaining holiday read, which rattles along in a not entirely predictable way – I enjoyed it! - review by Dan Fenton
