Review
This beautifully produced book makes accessible the work of one of the greatest French designers of the twentieth century. Hundreds of illustrations, both in colour and black & white, show his beautiful furniture and interiors. His creations managed to be both classical and yet modern, simple yet richly ornamented. On page after page I find myself thinking how I would like to have a chair like that, a table, a cabinet etc… Some hope, of course, but this book is some consolation. It comes from the same stable as Les Décorateurs Des Années 40  hbk £60, which is a valuable introduction to the background. (Text in French.) - review by Johnny de Falbe
