Review
As is the case with all Holroyd's books, this biography is beautifully written, well organised, and witty. It is not the only intimate story of the influential popular historian, but also the chronicle of a strange, doomed love affair (with the artist Dora Carrington). Though first published in the 1960s, it remains the best introduction to the Bloomsbury set and their values. - review by John Wyse Jackson (Seán)
