Lullaby TownEditionsReviewThis was the first novel I read by Robert Crais, and it's a great read. The tone is reminiscent of Carl Hiaasen, but the setting is LA rather than Florida, and Elvis Cole, the PI, is the last word in Cool. In this story, Elvis gets to hunt for the ex-wife of the ludicrous Peter Alan Nelsen, now a powerful Hollywood director. The shots Crais takes at the film industry might be cheap; but - as so often with what is cheap - they are terrific value. Exciting and fun - on a par with Hiaasen's Skin Tight |
