The Bloomsbury group is so well known for its literature that its art is often forgotten, but it is marvellous. This is the catalogue to the exhibition at the Tate in 1999 of work by Roger Fry, Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant. Landscapes (Sussex, France), portraits, still lives, The Omega Workshops and various other aspects are treated in separate sections. Lavishly produced with lots of good colour reproductions and illuminating text, it is excellent value for money. - review by Johnny de Falbe
