Little Tim And The Brave Sea CaptainEditionsReviewThis is the first in the celebrated ‘Little Tim’ series by one of the great illustrators of the twentieth century; a traditional classic. It tells the story of a boy who “lived in a house by the sea. He wanted very much to be a sailor.” And soon he finds himself at sea in unexpected circumstances - as a stowaway on Captain McFee’s ship. A storm blows up and the ship starts to break apart. The crew take to the boats, forgetting about Tim in their panic. The Captain stays on the bridge, prepared to go down with his ship. There the two of them are, about to meet their doom, when along comes the Life Boat, its brave men all decked in sou’westers... It is a great story, with gorgeous, energetic pictures. After this, read the sequel, Tim To The Rescue . Age 4-7 - review by Johnny de Falbe |
