Heather HornbeckProfileI began working at Sandoe’s in August 2005 and didn’t fall down the stairs until 21 months later, which was 21 months later than I thought I would. Before that I grew up on a farm in New York State, rode a lot of horses, and generally did not have much exposure to steps. I later spent a decade as a private school administrator and can therefore bore even the worst dinner party guest when it comes to discussing school admissions. I moved to London on New Year’s Day 1997, just in time for ‘Cool Britannia.’ Early on I worked at an art gallery and helped at the Notting Hill Housing Trust and Cancer Research UK. When I moved to a house near the bookshop, I became a regular customer, but I’m a part-time customer now because I work here the other part. I have the highest regard for all authors [you'll get over this], which makes it rather humbling to be at Sandoe’s where many of my colleagues are writers. And the others humble me with their general knowledge, excellent handwriting and wit[Humble? Who is this person?].
