In 2008 I was a judge for the fiction category of the Costa Book Awards - which involved reading a huge number of books in a relatively short period of time. I have been working at John Sandoe's since August 1993, a refugee from a
brief 'career' working for a now defunct French bank (I'd like to think I played
my part in its downfall, but that would be stretching the bounds of
plausibility). Like many others who have come to work here, I pretty soon
couldn't imagine being anywhere else.
