Peter Doig: Cabins and Canoes – The Unreasonable Silence of the Void
Stunning catalogue of the recent show at the Danish Faurschou Foundation’s Beijing gallery. This was Doig’s first solo exhibition in China, curated by Francis Outred, head of Post-War and Contemporary Art, Europe, Middle East, Russia and India at Christie’s. Includes his most famous ‘White Canoe’ of 1991-1992, as well as work from the last few years. Canoes and cabins are two persistent themes in Doig’s work, dreamlike, imagined, remembered, remade again and again, with occasional ghostly figures. Beautiful and haunting.
With a foreword by Jens Faurschou.
